Born and raised in Skiatook, Oklahoma, Gene Crain began playing the steel guitar at the age of 9 years old. Through the years, he mastered the steel guitar and is also very accomplished on other instruments as well.

At age 13, he began playing professionally and through the following years, played country music for some of the biggest names in that field.  In the 1970's, Gene played on the road with the likes of Roy Clark and Freddy Fender to name a couple as well as performing alongside countless others such as: Minnie Pearl, Hank Thompson, Mel Tillis, Billy Parker, Johnny Russell, Billy Walker, Johnnie Lee Wills, and others.  At the age of 15, after being greatly influenced by his grandfather, Gene became a Christian and touched many lives while still in country music.

In 1990, Gene and his wife Gayla Earlene went into the music ministry and so began 3G Music, 3G Records and Crain Three G Music Publishing for which he is the President.  In 1994 he produced the first of ten albums for his wife, Gayla, which have achieved great success.

Gene & Gayla Earlene produced and recorded his first instrumental album entitled, "Steel Pickin For Jesus" and has had overwhelming response from both fans and radio people. Two releases from that album have found a spot on the Christian Country Charts in the USA and in Europe. His version of Blood Bought Church went to #4 on the European Country Gospel Chart. It was also the theme song for the Nationally broadcasted CCMA Award Show, live from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN for three consecutive years. Gene’s latest instrumental album, “Steel One Way” is taking off and also becoming very popular among his fans.
